Our Commitment
Fontoza is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
We continually evaluate and improve the accessibility of our website to ensure we provide an equal and positive experience for all users.
Accessibility Features
Fontoza includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard.
- Skip to content link: A "Skip to content" link is available at the top of every page for screen reader and keyboard users.
- Semantic HTML: Pages use proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3) and landmark regions (main, nav, footer).
- ARIA labels: Interactive components include appropriate aria-label and aria-live attributes.
- Dark mode: Full dark mode support respects the user's system preference (prefers-color-scheme) and can be toggled manually.
- Colour contrast: Text and interface elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Decorative content: Decorative images, icons, and Unicode characters include
aria-hidden="true"to avoid noise for screen readers. - Focus indicators: All interactive elements have visible focus indicators.
- Text resizing: The site is usable when text is resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Responsive design: The site is fully usable on mobile, tablet, and desktop screen sizes.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- Some generated Unicode characters may not be announced meaningfully by screen readers, as they are mathematical symbols rather than standard letters. The copy-to-clipboard button is always accessible regardless of how the preview text renders.
- Zalgo and effect-heavy text styles inherently create content that screen readers may struggle to parse — this is a property of the Unicode standard, not a site deficiency.
Standards and Guidelines
We use the following standards as a reference for our accessibility work:
- WCAG 2.1 — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Level AA
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 — Accessible Rich Internet Applications specification
- Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act
